Our Story

Join us on October 19 for the second annual MasonicCon South, an event open to both Masons and those curious about Freemasonry. The weekend begins with a Friday night meet and greet at Railwalk Brewing, setting the stage for connections and conversations. On Saturday, dive into a day of Masonic knowledge at the Salisbury Masonic Temple, featuring five insightful speakers. The day concludes with a festive board, blending tradition, history, and fellowship. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to learn, connect, and celebrate.

Festive Board Dinner

The Festive Board is the crowning jewel of MasonicCon South, where the bonds of brotherhood and fellowship are celebrated in grand style. This year, the event will be held at Chef Santos in Salisbury, NC, providing an elegant setting for this time-honored Masonic tradition. With speeches, toasts, and a carefully curated menu, the Festive Board offers a perfect blend of formality and conviviality. It is more than just a meal; it is an experience that reflects the values and traditions of Freemasonry, offering a space for reflection, connection, and celebration of the shared journey. Join us for an evening that promises to be as memorable as it is meaningful.

Robert (Bobby) Wayne Rideout, Jr. is the Deputy Grand Master and a member of Wendell Lodge No. 565, with honorary memberships in Cleveland No. 202 and Semper Fidelis No. 680. He has served as Chair of the Grand Lodge Committee of Appeals and Past Master of Whitestone No. 155, and is active in the National Sojourners, Scottish Rite, and York Rite. During his deployment to Afghanistan, he joined the Canada Lodge UD, GRC at Kandahar Airfield, the only operating A.F.&A.M. military lodge in the world. Bobby holds degrees from UNCW, LSU, and the U.S. Army War College and serves as a U.S. Administrative Law Judge and Chief Judge for the SSA in Raleigh, NC. In the U.S. Army Reserve, he is a Colonel and JAG officer, having served as a Military Judge with deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. He has earned multiple military decorations, including two Bronze Stars, and was honored as the 2015 Distinguished Alumnus by UNCW. Bobby is married to Courtney Rideout, and they have two children, Ivan Henry and Daisy Marie.

Joe Martinez is a veteran of the United States Army and former Counterintelligence Special Agent. Joe is currently an executive and technologist for Corporate and Government Legal practices in the Washington, D.C. area. Bro. Joe is a two-time Past Master of Manasseh Lodge No. 182, A.F. & A.M., in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Bro. Joe is again serving as the District Education Officer for the 4th Masonic District of the Grand Lodge of Virginia. He is currently serving as the Grand Orator of the Grand Lodge, F.A.A.M., of the District of Columbia.  He is also a Mason in Massachusetts, North Carolina, Kansas, the District of Columbia, and the UGLE. He is a member of the York Rite, A.A.S.R., the Allied Masonic Degrees, numerous other Appendant bodies, and the SRICF. He is a Founder and Host of Esotericon® and one of the Hosts of The Masonic Roundtable Podcast™. Bro. Joe enjoys focusing on and researching the Initiatic Experience, Rituals of Initiation, and the Mysteries of Ancient Civilizations, as well as their synergies with Craft Masonry™.
